Earl vs. Shane at Loisville for $20,000.00 Nov. 15 -17th |
|
Earl Strickland will Play Shane Van Boening in Louisville, Kentucky at the Pool Olympics this November !5,16 & 17. The game is 10 ball, first one to 100 games wins the 20,000.00. The rules are no jump cues and the 10 ball spots on the break.
The first day is a race to 30, the second day is a race to 60, and the final day is the race to 100 for the $20,000.00. I will be racking the balls for Earl as he decided that racking your own would be tiring. Shane who just beat Corey Duel in the first ever live internet match last weekend by a land slide has accepted the challenge of Earl Strickland. The match can be seen live on the internet November 15 - 17th at theactionreport.com. Earl is being sponsored by Babys Pro Shop LLC and will be using a Mike Gulyassy playing and break cue. Earl told me he is working out and training everyday.
GO EARL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earl is getting ready to play in the US Open, the World open and then the $20,000.00 challenge match with Van Boening in Louisville. I think he will be ready for these matches. He is back living with me and is running everyday and practicing 4-6 hours daily. He will surprise a lot of people with his new trim look and awesome playing. I think Earl deserves another chance from all the knockers in the game that only talk about his past. How about the sponsors? Is he going to be black balled forever? I believe in Earl. I think there are many others that believe also. No matter what, one of the best pool players of all times living out of his car is a sad picture of our sport. When will the Head Corporations in pool support our players. They support them in tennis and golf and bowling, what about pool? Did anyone ever bar McEnroe from tennis for his tennis antics? I say that whatever happens with Earl's matches can and should be handles be the MANAGEMENT, not by Earl or the spectators. When something is disturbing the players in golf they are on the person immediately, if a tennis player is bothered the head referee asks them to please be quiet, bowling seems to be the best with the fans in the dark or out of the players sight. What about pool? They stick the fans around the table eye to eye with the players and sometimes within touching distance. How about a pit, everything is more visible and the players are isolated from the crowd. There are answers to the problems with pool that we the players have put up with all our lives. I for one am coughing again after quiting cigarettes for 12 years because I want to play pool again. I am playing for the last 8 week and have played in 6 tournaments and now I have a smokers cough. I must stay away from the smoking pool rooms or die, what a choice. I love pool but it is the most screwed up sport on the planet. NO WONDER.

Hey Earl |
|
Hey Earl, What happened to you at Louisville? I heard they were taking bets on a 65 to 100 race, and you got to 63? Was that fixed?
